RakeOld-school British cooking in one of Islington's best-loved pubs
Chefs Jay Claus and Syrus Pickhaver took up residence at the Compton Arms in Islington in 2025, following a residency at The Gun in Hackney. Their cooking celebrates old-school British food, with whole-beast butchery and day boat Cornish fish.
Playful, generous dishes such as ray wing on homemade crumpet and stargazy pie earned Rake a place in the Michelin Guide in 2026.
Rake has announced its final service on 19 December, with the duo moving on to a new project in 2027.
