From the team behind Camille, B.Penhale takes over the former Club Gascon site on West Smithfield, directly opposite the historic meat market. The restaurant is named after chef Elliot Hashtroudi's grandmother, whose family has deep ties to Smithfield - his great-grandmother was a butcher there.
Looking to Britain and Ireland for inspiration, the menu revives traditional and forgotten dishes, some dating back to the Victorian era, with a nose-to-tail approach to the best of British produce. Alongside the 60-cover dining room sits a small walk-in bar with its own chalkboard menu.
